Point-and-click adventure powerhouse Wadjet Eye Games has announced Old Skies, a time-travelling adventure coming to Steam “soon”.
In Old Skies you play as time agent for the ChronoZen agency, Fia Quinn. Your job is to keep tabs on seven travelers who have taken off on vacations to the past. Some of them are out there just to se the sights, but your job is to make sure that they don’t break the rules, keeping the space-time-continuum safe for the rest of us. You know, normal time travel stuff.
Old Skies will send players to seven distinct time periods, “from the speakeasies of Prohibition to the gangs of the Gilded Age to the morning of September 11th”. They also promise that the puzzles that await will take advantage of the fact that time is at play.
Wadjet Eye Games has been a leader in the point-and-click revival. While TellTale Games gets all the credit for their acclaimed series, Wadjet Eye Games has been releasing their own slew of critical and commercial successes, including Unavowed, Primordia, Gemini Rue, and the successful Blackwell series.
Old Skies looks far more modern than those classic pixelated adventures, but looks to feature the same considered design, and thought-provoking storytelling.
Old Skies doesn’t have a release date, but you can go ahead and wishlist it on Steam right now.
