2020 has decimated the convention scene. While it’s easy to think of PAX and E3, its often the smaller yet just as important regional conventions that have suffered the most. MomoCon isn’t letting the pandemic ruin their plans however, with the Atlanta-based convention announcing a stellar digital charity event to cap off the year.
MomoCon Let’s Get Digital will take place on December 11-13 via the MomoCon official Twitch channel, and it has a pretty stellar lineup to boot. The big news here is that the game director for Cyberpunk 2077 will be joined by the voice actress behind the character “V”, as they talk about the development process behind 2020’s most hyped event.
There’s also a bunch of esports exhibitions including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Tekken 7. Speedrunning fans will be delighted to head that the Zeldathon team will be running through The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Animaniacs and Pokemon Emerald.
And there’s a bunch of other super cool features like hourly giveaways from game publishers, a learn to draw class from comic illustrator Marcus Williams, and a peek at the upcoming indie titles. The best thing is that proceeds from merch sales, and direct donations go towards Feeding America, and organization that will be in need more than ever given the devastating effects of COVID-19 across the United States.
If you’re interested in attending, you should go ahead and check out the official timetable, and consider throwing a donation to a great cause via the Tiltify page.
