Firefighting roguelite Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue is getting a brand new deluxe version, bringing the game to consoles for the first time on June 22nd.
Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX is an overhauled and rebalanced version of the original which was released on PC last year. Adding in new enemies, tweaked level design, and more options to extinguish your enemies, developer Dejima has taken player feedback to heart and improved the game for the new release.
If you missed it (I most certainly did), Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX is a roguelite platformer that has you standing in the soggy boots of a fire rescure officer trying to rebuild her rundown local fire station. With a fire hose that is also a handy jetpack, and a formidable fire axe, you have three minutes to clear all the civilians from each procedurally generated blaze. There’s also a mystery to uncover, oh, and fire monsters to deal with.
“The original release of Firegirl on PC gave us invaluable feedback on how we could improve the experience significantly ahead of a console release,” said Julien Ribassin, founder of Dejima. “With the completely reworked and rebalanced version of the game that is Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX, we’ve kept everything that was great about the original version and reworked the wrinkles to provide a definitive version of the game. Look forward to it on June 22nd.”
Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash Rescue DX will release on the PlayStation and Xbox family of consoles, along with the Nintendo Switch. The Steam version will receive the DX Update for free on the same day.
